How much does property insurance cost?

The cost of property insurance will vary depending on factors such as type of insurance, location and value of your property, optional coverages added, and limits of insurance. For a property insurance quote, find a broker who can help you find the best home insurance for you! 

Is property insurance mandatory?

In general, property insurance is not mandatory, but in same cases it will be required. For example, if you have a mortgage, your bank or lender will typically require proof of insurance. If you are renting, some property management and landlords may require tenant insurance in order for you to live on the property.  Either way, most people opt to get insurance - it’s important to protect your home sweet home! 

Do I need a policy separate from my home insurance for my seasonal property?

Yes, you need to purchase a separate policy for your cabin or cottage.
